Ravens Cut 3 Players, Rolle to Remain on PUP

This morning the Ravens cut 3 players: Wide receivers Bradon Godfrey, Biren Ealy and quarterback Drew Willy. The roster now sits at 76 players. It needs to be down to 75 by tomorrow, and down to 53 by September 5.

Also conerback Samari Rolle will remain on the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list to start the season and will miss the team’s first six games.

Yahoo Sports Report: Cassel Out For Season Opener

According to Yahoo Sports’ Jason Cole, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel is going to miss the season opener at Baltimore on September 13 due to a strained MCL. He is slated to miss 2-4 weeks.

The Chiefs next two quarterbacks on the depth chart are Tyler Thigpen and Brodie Croyle, who have a combined 19 career NFL starts. Thigpen would get the starting nod over Croyle if indeed Cassel cannot play. Cassel started 15 games for the Patriots last year in place of the injured Tom Brady and did an excellent job, leading the Pats to an 11-5 record.

This is not the way the Chiefs wanted to begin the Matt Cassel era. They signed him to a six-year, $63 million contract in July. The deal included $28 million in guaranteed money.

I can already hear the Ravens’ defense licking their chops. You saw how much they enjoyed getting after young Mark Sanchez. Just wait til they get a chance to feast on another relatively inexperienced QB.

Look who decided to turn on the computer

Yeah yeah I’m sorry for not posting for a good 3½ months (Had to enjoy summer). But I’m back and ready to post again.

It hurts me every year to watch the Orioles tank it in the second half, but its been great to see some great stuff happening this summer sports wise. How about Federer and Roddick in an absolute classic at Wimbledon? Tiger Woods had a very good season on tour, but failed to win a major for the first time since 2004. Kobe led the Lakers to their 15th NBA Title. And the Wild Card race in both the AL and NL is heating up.

However after 2 Ravens preseason games I have overcome my laziness (for lack of a better term), feel rejuvenated, and I’m ready to start blogging about sports again…mostly the Ravens of course! Thank God for football season.

So I’ve dusted off the keyboard and will start updating much more frequently. Look for the same stuff you got used to last winter. (previews, recaps, youtube videos).

See you soon,
